How do we teach children that humans are still more important than machines? Here is one solution: show them how beautifully diverse their communities are.

How do we eradicate violent extremism in our societies? Ambassador Choonghee Hahn says that the long-term solution is to inculcate in children a “positive sense of identity, empathy, and inclusion”. Global citizenship must be introduced in the early stage of child development, using methods that are truly age appropriate. The goal here is not to create spiritual or religious children, but rather, to develop adults who are can learn together and live together with mutual understanding and respect for each other. Global citizenship upholds the sacred role of the human being, and the importance of the communities that safeguards the higher values of peace, understanding, and compassion.
