Jeff Bezos is assembling a team to develop technology that will enable humans to become immortal. The report on this was published by The Byte.

The startup, called Alto Labs was launched in 2021 and is currently led by Hal Barron, formerly the chief scientific officer at GlaxoSmithKline.

Aside from Barron, Alto Labs has also hired Dr. Shinya Yamanaka, winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in medicine for his work in stem cell research, and Jennifer Doudna, co-winner of the 2020 Nobel Prize in chemistry for helping develop CRISPR.
