This article is part 3 of Cory Morningstar’s article series entitled It’s Not A Social Dilemma – It’s The Calculated Destruction Of The Social. This part was published on November 28, 2020 and focuses on Artificial Intelligence and the massive danger it poses on our planet’s living systems.
Morningstar also shows how social media systems are manufacturing discourse, “Rather than a collective demand from the citizenry to terminate the foray into uncharted territory (referring to autonomous weapon systems)…the public is safely re-routed and encouraged to ‘demand’ a future that respects ‘humane technology’, with adherence to the precautionary principle, kept both out of sight and out of mind.”
Editor’s Note: This article reminds us once again about the interconnectedness of life. We cannot look at the issue of artificial intelligence in a silo and disregard all others. Now more than ever, we must awaken our capacity for systems thinking, as well as our care for the planet, and compassion for our fellow.
Real change cannot happen overnight, not when our solutions are operating from the same mindset that created the problems in the first place.
