Facebook will pay $650M after losing a lawsuit alleging its face-tagging and collection of biometric data without the permission of users. The class action suit was filed in Illinois in 2015 and involves nearly 1.6 million users. U.S District Judge James Donato called it “one of the largest settlements ever for a privacy violation”.
