If there is one thing that AI developers agree on, it is the fact that there will be massive job loss when AIs are deployed in industries. Estimates show that by 2021 6% of jobs will have been eliminated due to workers being replaced by robots and other intelligent agents. That may be a small percentage, but to a country like the United States, that translates to 9 million jobs are at stake.
What can we do to prepare? We need better education. In an interview at the World Economic Forum, Jack Ma said: “If we do not change the way we teach, 30 years from now we will be in trouble. Because the way we teach – the things we teach our kids, are the things from the past 200 years.”
