Three years after receiving the Nobel, Prigogine engaged in efforts to bring together science and culture. He says that science needs to instigate researches in areas and fields where it is most needed – science must take the lead in shaping societies. When Prigogine refers to science, however, he refers to a new way of perceiving the world which relies on instability, non-linearity, and fluctuation.
