The threat of superintelligent AI is real, and we can do something about it. With the development of AI technologies accelerating, we need to seriously think about how to manage this risk.
This research article, published as early as 2015 explores the risks associated with AI technology, as well as the capacities of various government institutions to manage those risks. By discussing the conceptual and practical challenges of the issue, the article concludes with a proposal on how AI can be regulated indirectly, as a way of ensuring that its development will be beneficial for human kind.
