Using a combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and biotechnology, a team of scientists and roboticists claims that they have developed a new life form which they described as “a new class of artifact: a living, programmable organism”. These new artifacts called xenobots are less than 1mm long and made up of thousands of living cells.
