How the scientific method has led to an educational train wreck

The current image of science does not reflect the collaborative effort that goes to every research. Why are scientific awards given only to an one person, when there is a whole team working on the same research?

In this 2010 article, Larry Dossey explains that students are turned off with science because of the way it is currently being taught and defined. He says that many stereotypes hound the sciences, hence leading to more and more young scientists leaving research work.
