Through his new book called Novacene, James Lovelock says that human dominance is coming to an end. Soon, self-sufficient and self-aware cyborgs will rule the world, and humans will be nothing more than part of the earth’s background landscape. The first days of the Novocene won’t be so bad, but as the earth deteriorates, so will the rest of the natural world. The earth’s rich blue sky will turn tepid brown, and the cyborgs, themselves created by computers, will be forced to migrate to another planet.
