Google wants you to engage in online discussions, and it has built a tool to help you do so. But will it be enough to combat the toxic internet culture? Or will it create new problems for us?

Early this year, Google’s Jigsaw released Perspective, a system that uses natural language processing (NLP) to break down the patterns in sentences, and classify their potential impact. The goal is to confront the issues like group think, harassment, and confirmation bias, and enable websites to create enlightening discussions minus the online hate.
