Finally, someone in the U.S. government has began the first step to ensuring security in artificial intelligence.
Through the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence Act of 2018, Elise Stefanik hopes to “develop a commission to review advances in AI, identify our nation’s AI needs and make actionable recommendations of what direction we need to take”.
Our Thoughts
We hope that the studies will be exhaustive and that it will look at both sides of the AI equation – both the benefits and worst possible challenges we will encounter. We shall be looking forward to the results of this legislation, may it come soon.
Stefanik Introduces Artificial Intelligence Legislation
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21), Member of the House Armed Services Committee and Chair of the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, introduced the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence Act of 2018. This new legislation would create an independent National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
