Our spiritual traditions have failed to address global crises. Can they still be relevant in these modern times?

In the midst of all the global crises we are subjected to, we can no longer afford to have spiritual traditions that disregard our physical realities. We can no longer claim that this world is an illusion, when so many, both humans and non-humans are suffering. In this two-part article written by Kavita Byrd for Science and Non-Duality, she talks about a new vision for a spiritual activist paradigm that taps into the power of our consciousness to transform our physical realities. Byrd also offers to us a redefinition of the phrase “going beyond our ego”, one in which the evolutionary unfolding of ourselves is interwoven with the unfolding of the “other” and the world that hosts us.

The two parts of Byrd’s article has been integrated to one PDF file, which is available for download below.

Implications for AI

Artificial intelligence, according to some developers, was developed to address the many concerns arising out of our crisis-torn world. But if the articles on this website is any indication, the AI solution is piece meal – it will never be able to get to the root of the problem. Byrd’s article reclaims the true power of the human being – the capacity for total awakening, and the transformation of the present into a future never imagined before.
