The following article by Larry Dossey explains to us the concept of sci-exit and the many forms it takes. Dossey says that sci-exit typically happens in paranormal and consciousness studies, and that the strength of the denial is equal to the gravity of the traditional concept being replaced.
Dossey also says that of the eight forms of sci-exit, the most prevalent is silence. Many scientists choose not to make their stand public, for fear of rebuke. But Dossey says that silence is already a political decision. By keeping mum about the result of the post-materialist sciences, scientists are only assisting materialists in destroying our communities, societies, and nature.
