As expected, some countries in the world have no capacity to take advantage of AI developments. Could this lead to greater social inequalities?

In 2017, Oxford Insights created the world’s first Government Artificial Intelligence Readiness Index (GARI). As its name implies, the index was designed to determine the capacity of governments to utilize the potential of AI. For 2019, Singapore tops the index, with the rest of the top 20 dominated by various European countries, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and some Asian countries. Unsurprisingly, no countries from Latin America and Africa came close to the top.
